JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ARCHITECTURAL TECHNICIAN

Our client uses AutoCAD 2006 & AutoCAD Architectural Desktop.

They are looking for candidates who are familiar with AutoCAD 2006 and are proficient in its

use (accurate, reasonably fast, able to develop sensibly structured models including an

understanding of Xreferencing). All candidates will be asked to undertake a CAD test so that

skills can be assessed.

Other IT skills required are a working knowledge of WORD & Excel.

The work of the client (Architects) encompasses both new-build & refurbishment projects. Their

needs are therefore for technicians with an architectural background, a sound knowledge of

building construction and the ability to develop production drawings with the minimum of

supervision. Familiarity with the Building Regulations and a knowledge of The Construction

(Design & Management) Regulations are also a requirement.

The successful candidates must be able to work effectively within dedicated project teams.

Their market Sectors are MOD work, Correctional Services, Transportation, Education &

Regeneration projects. Recent experience of these sectors is desirable but secondary to the

skill base describe above.
