Job Description:
This client carries out social housing refurbishment projects across London and the south east and into the south midlands. Projects range in value from £500K to circa £7 million under JCT contracting arrangments, and they also have partnering arrangements with housing associations and boroughs on larger projects running over a number of years under PPC2000.
Predominantly projects are conducted with the residents in occupation though a small proportion of refurbishment projects, where the scope of works is extensive, are carried out in void properties. The scope of works falls into two main categories - external refurbishment consisting of concrete repairs, associated roof repairs and window replacement and internal refurbishments programmes under the Decent Homes initiative.
Dynamic and commercially aware the person they appoint will work on a portfolio of projects that vary in size, value and complexity offering the successful candidate a challenging, fast moving, and above all, varied work-load. Based from their Social Housing operations office in Hitchin the projects will be mainly north of the Thames with the exception of one project about to start on the south London-Surrey border.
Skills and Qualifications:
Applicants should be able to display pre-contract design stage experience through the construction phase to handover. Additionally, they will have natural man management ability and be able to communicate easily at all levels as well as being able to co-ordinate multiple projects up to a value of £6-7 million.
