To manage the placement and execution of subcontracts and development of overall Subcontract Management strategies on various Precision Systems programmes.
Reporting to various Programme Managers on day-to-day issues and the Commercial Leader for functional matters.
To provide the reports required by the Programme Leadership to ensure the team is regularly briefed and kept generally informed of all key Subcontract management issues which could impact programme performance and to ensure that all sub-contracts are placed and executed in accordance with the timescales and budgets required by the programmes.
To agree with the Programme Director programme, financial and commercial plans which fulfill the programme requirements and maintain the most advantageous position for RSL.
To provide Supply Chain expertise within the programmes, lead negotiations where required and ensure that the programme objectives are reflected in all sub-contract documentation.
Identify and manage all risks and opportunities associated with the sub contracts and work with the team and the relevant IPTs to establish corrective action and risk mitigation plans as required.
Ensure that the management and administration of the sub-contracts/material requirements are conducted in a professional manner as required by RSL Company policies. Provide regular reports on sub-contractor performance. Continually monitor and provide forecasts concerning completion of sub-contracts and related cash-flow projections.
Ensure that the impacts of any Prime contract changes are mitigated with sub-contractors to maintain the levels of reported profitability and adherence to delivery schedules.
To identify non-value adding activities within the Supply Chain process and work with the Supply Chain team to identify and implement improvements which are capable of being applied across RSL.
Education and Experience
Essential: 7 years commercial and sub-contracts experience with excellent knowledge of MoD contracting.
Desirable: Degree in Business or related subject
