Minimum Requirements : Accredited degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (or appropriate related education).

Chartered, or near Chartered, MIStructE or MICE.

• Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel to create, view and manipulate files.
• Able to use Mircosoft Project to create, view and manipulate project programmes.
• Have an understanding of AutoCAD.
• Have a working knowledge of design and analysis software.

You will have a minimum of 5 years post degree experience in the design of structural engineering projects.
Job Description : The role requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles of structural engineering design and the ability to undertake and direct the detailed design of all forms of building structure.

You will prepare efficient and effective design solutions in conjunction with the project team and to keep the Project Manager informed of any possible issues before they turn into problems.

Able to present information in a coherent and logical manner. You will be able to effectively communicate with supervisor and team members regarding projects and project issues,giving clear and efficient instructions and technical opinion to project team members.

You will understand your limitations and refer to the supervisor as necessary.

You will be aware of Client confidentiality issues and be tactful and considered in Client dealings able to discuss and agree Client reporting needs.

You should be able to prioritise actions and meet commitments on an on-going basis and able to project personal work commitments to identify overload/under utilisation and to report these in advance to the Associate Director.

You will should be able to write grammatically and be able to present thoughts and organise written material in a logical and concise manner.

You will be confident in actively participating in internal meetings and work with minimal supervision under the guidance of Project Manager/Technical Directors.

Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel to create, view and manipulate files.
