Job Purpose:

Control and manage WRSL staff, agency staff or Sub contractor site installation works

Key Duties:

 Responsible for the co-ordinating of all signalling site activities, and interface with other project disciplines
 Organise and plan signalling installation work to maximise utilisation of resources, ensuring task sheets are completed in a timely and accurate fashion
 Organise and control the signalling installation work undertaken by allocated staff and contractors and ensure that work is carried out safely
 Responsible for co-ordinating of all signalling site activities, and interface with other disciplines
 Responsible for possession co-ordination on a four week look ahead, including resourcing of COSS and Look outs, for planned works in accordance with RIMINI requirements.
 Responsible for raising individual work plans for signalling installation activities.
 Responsible for objective of zero defects and zero rework in installation phase
 Responsible for maintaining asset register database and collation of all handover/handback documentation and activities.
 Responsible site supervision of on site signalling installation activities and handover to test
 Responsible for production of quality inspection report and timely rectification of all signalling defects.
 Responsible for managing the personal safety and administration of allocated staff and contractors
 Ensure that tools and equipment are secure, in a sensible condition and are returned to the controlling organisation when not required
 Carry out safety and quality audits on WSL installers and agency/sub contractors
 Ensure that the briefing of instructions to allocated staff is carried out in a timely fashion
 Responsible for checking and certifying timesheets ensuring correct hour booking and appropriation
 Responsible for the timekeeping and discipline of allocated staff
 Monitor and control allocated budgets and prepare reports and programmes as required by the Project Manager.
 Work with the allocated Project Commercial Team to provide effective change control on the signaling installation works


Essential Requirements:

* 10 years railway signalling installation experience.
* 5 years experience in supervising staff
*Fully conversant with all current installation practices, Railtrack Group and Line Standards, Health
and Safety legislation and standards
* Excellent communication skills
* Assertive and influential
* Must be prepared to travel and lodge away from home depot when required by operational
circumstances
